This morning, Malwarebytes is identifying your new software update as malware. They are using some new AI based detection method that has identified the following file as zero day malware. I installed this update yesterday 7-7-23.
C:\Users\johnw\AppData\Local\Number Eight Innovation\MegunoLink\MegunoLink.msi.
They want me to quarantine the file. I have not done that yet, as I am not sure what the consequences are. I am using Megunolink quite heavily right now and don't want to mess things up.
What is going on?

Malwarebytes is flagging your new update download as malware
Hi John, usually this is because they rely on some kind of consensus mechanism to decide a file is fine. So when we issue an update it can trigger for a while until eventually they decide its fine. Its a pain! Best you can do is check in here and make sure you download the update via the mechanism in the application or via our website directly.
